Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Vol. 1 by Brandon Montclare

Like many shows on Disney Channel, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur was renewed before Season 1 finished, meaning that Lunella's adventures are far from over. How the team would cover for Lunella with her schoolwork and family is less clear, but Mimi's intelligence and Casey's creativity could solve that problem in interesting ways. The latter concern was previously tackled by Casey herself, who donned the Moon Girl costume while Lunella recovered from an injury in Season 1, Episode 7, 'Moon Girl's Day Off.' It went poorly, but with more experience and Mimi's support, Casey could rise to the challenge and become a great hero in her own right.

On top of that, Lunella's friends will have to cover for absence, both as a middle school student and as the Lower East Side's premier superhero. Back in the present, Morlak attacks Lunella's base, destroying it and capturing Mimi so that she can rebuild the generator and prove her and Morlak's brilliance to the world. Horrified by Morlak's actions, Mimi destroyed the generator and went into hiding with the blueprints. However, when their boss attempted to take credit for their project, Morlak decided to activate the device, opening a gateway to a dimension of monsters who ripped away the boss and his military contacts.

Mimi explains that she was part of the Enclave with Morlak and that they built the portal generator together.

Compounding matters is the revelation that Lunella's grandmother Mimi also figured out Lunella's secret on her own - and is the original Moon Girl. In 'OMG, Issue #1', Lunella's personal life and superhero duties collide when she is targeted by mad scientist Maris Morlak (voiced by The Exiled co-creator Wesley Snipes) and his Enclave, who have deduced her secret identity.
